Where you are

You’ve Been Weary Long Enough That It Feels Normal Now

Somewhere in the last year or two, weary stopped being a phase you were passing through and became the baseline you plan your days around.

Weary is the word for that. It doesn’t get used much, because it doesn’t sound serious enough to bother anybody about.

You’ve adjusted to it without ever deciding to. The hardest hours get scheduled away from anything that matters, what you expect of yourself has quietly come down a notch, and you haven’t mentioned that part to anyone.

What it is

Put a Name to What’s Wearing You Down

Anxiety that won’t quiet down, so you read the same email four times before you can make yourself send it. Depression that took the joy out of the things you still put on the calendar and still show up for.

ADHD that scatters you across six half-finished tasks and leaves you annoyed with yourself by lunch. Grief you assumed you’d be further along with by now.

Whichever one brought you here, the bill comes due in the same four places:

The second thing

Bring the Question You Haven’t Said Out Loud

Faith is always an invitation, never an expectation.

For a lot of the people who reach me, a second thing runs underneath the first one. You’ve taken it to God, more than once and with everything you had, and Monday morning arrived anyway with the worry still attached.

The quiet question that follows keeps good people out of counseling for years. It belongs in the room alongside everything else you’re bringing.

How much of your faith comes into the work is entirely yours to decide, and my Christian Counseling page walks through exactly how that part works.

How the work runs

Get Tools You Can Use This Week

Counseling with me runs on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness and grounding practices, and Christian counseling when you want it. Together, we’ll build the tools to:

  • Calm anxious thoughts and get your emotional balance back
  • Manage ADHD with more focus, better organization, and real confidence
  • Move through depression and reconnect with purpose and joy
  • Meet a major life transition with your resilience intact
  • Strengthen your communication and rebuild the relationships that matter
  • Build healthier thinking patterns rooted in truth and hope

Which of those we take on first is what the first conversation is for. Before that, you’ll want to know who’s on the other end of the phone.

Elaine Wallace, LPC, LCPC

I’m Elaine Wallace, and Uri Christian Counseling has been mine since 2021. The name is pronounced “Yuri.”

Most of the adults I work with are capable people who have handled harder things than this one, which is exactly what makes the current stretch so disorienting.

Counseling is a second career for me, and the first one had nothing at all to do with it. That story is on my About page.

You’ll get the truth from me about what I see, and that includes the weeks when you’re doing considerably better than you think you are.

What changes

You Were Created for More Than Getting Through Each Day

A decision gets made in an afternoon instead of following you around for three weeks.

The people at your dinner table get the version of you that’s actually present with them.

And the next hard thing arrives, because it will, and you’ll have something to meet it with besides endurance.

The first 15 minutes

Make the Call
You’ve Been Putting Off

The consultation is free and runs about 15 minutes. I book it myself, so you’ll be talking with me rather than a scheduling system.

You’ll tell me what the hardest part has been lately and what you want to be different by the time we’re finished, and I’ll tell you how I’d approach it and where we’d start.

You don’t need the answers worked out before you dial. If weary is the word you’d use for this stretch of your life, that’s reason enough to pick up the phone.
